American Modern Oak Dining Table by Robsjohn Gibbings - 1970s
DESCRIPTION
George Nakashima style over size oak dining table has been made in Japan, designed by Robsjohn Gibbings. Robsjohn Gibbings worked for the same company as Nakashima called Widdicomb. This particular piece is more high-end than the Widdicomb furniture pieces so it was probably a bespoke piece, also suggested by it's unusually large size. We also have the large credenza available to complete the dining room. The elegant saber legs reference to the typical Japanese shrine. Also be aware that oak was a very precious and prestigious wood in Japan. Due to it's oversize dimensions the piece can also be used as a conference table or a modern refectory table.- Materials
